One of my other things is to read 50 books this year. 20 Of them should be classics.

Read 20 Classics a year. 2 years ago

Okay- I was an English major in college, and I didn’t finish, but I became an English major purely because I loved Literature. When I was growing up, I read 2-3 books a week, as I was an only child, and also learned to speed read (which is something I think most people do not know about me, and an wonderful talent- that I DON’T use). However, as I have gone into adulthood, I haven’t used this ability to my advantage, at ALL. So- for the remainder of 2007 (since we’re going into the Holiday months, and hey- there’s not much left, man), I’ve decided to read 5 classics for the end of this year, and 20 for the year 2008. I believe this will help to get my mind back where it was when I was reading so fluently, and that’s not such a bad place. I mark reading 5 classics before the end of the year as a mini-goal, and will celebrate it, maybe by going to the used bookstore, and buying more books for 2008:) That would rule! Anywho- yar, that’s the plan.

I consider myself reasonably with it, but was appalled at my poor completion of a suggested AP English summer reading list on LOB. And jeez, I’m in my 40’s.
