A useful aid to mindfulness 5 months ago

I’ve found the biggest obstacle to this goal is simply remembering to do it. I’ve found helpful writing down daily some thoughts I’ve been having. I normally write ones that I find I’ve been worrying about or feeling bad about in some way. Then I choose one, normally the one I’m finding most bothersome, and challange it with a list of CBT-type questions I printed from online (from livinglifetothefull.com). Have found this technique really useful for making me more mindful during the day of when these types of thoughts come up.

    The plan 13 months ago

I plan to work more at paying attention in the present moment non-judgementally. I’m aware that I’m prone to putting pressure on myself (“should” and “must” type thinking), so I’m going to look out for that. When I notice thoughts I discern to be unhelpful I will try to avoid more pressure and self-recrimination, by observing this mindfully.

For the next week I’ll try paying attention to all my general experience for a few breaths following the noting of unhelpful thinking styles.

This is hard! 2 years ago

Perhaps the way to begin is to designate times where I will remember to be mindful – waiting for the metro is a good one since I do that at least twice a day.

As I see it, minding my thoughts is the most basic & crucial yet hardest to accomplish endeavour in the long journey of personal development.
Our thoughts not only create our reality but also affect people & surroundings. Although people are hardly aware of it,
it doesn’t change the fact that our thoughts convey powerful energies that have the ability to result in either a positive creation or a leathel one. And since energy can not just disappear but must transform into a different state, (a basic well-known fact in physics) that is when a great call for personal reponsability, for ones own thoughts, comes in.
Be mindful of your thoughts. Be mindful of the thoughts you let getting into you & what kind of thoughts you let getting out.
Our thoughts are well-concentrated capsules of energy conveying great power, “and with great power comes great responsability.”

I intend to put all my best efforts into this never-ending endeavour in which at its end awaits a great reward – master my own thoughts.

    Wish me luck.
