I used to live next to a church. We even had keys to the church. Sometimes I would go into the church at night and play the organ. It was very peaceful, and nothing to be afraid of.

Frannie Girl is heading off with her hubby for a few hours of relaxation.
About 7 or 8 years ago I was going through a really tough time. I had gone on an all female weekend retreat and I just needed to get away from all of the estrogen for a while. Don’t get me wrong, I have many close female friends but I was just in a tough place and didn’t want to be part of the normal girly fluff. It was the dead of Winter and freezing out but I just didn’t want to go back to my cabin until everyone had gone back to bed. I was trying to avoid the required pre-bedtime chatter to be honest.
So I went for a walk down the country road near where we were. I saw a hill on my left and decided to go up it….there was no moon out so as I crested the top of the hill I could see the red glow from candles on the graves and I realized that the lane I was on was actually in a cemetary. At first I was a bit uneasy but I turned around to look behind me and was amazed at how peaceful it was. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky and there were millions of stars visible. I had a view that was amazing and could see the lights from homes on distant hills and from the cabins down the lane. It was wonderful….and I had a great uninterrupted heart to heart talk with God that night which was just what I needed at that time in my life.
