How to get back to my high school weight
How I did it:
- Daily exercise (walking, yoga, weight training)
- Avoided sweets and ice cream (substituted fresh and dried fruit). Occasional birthday cake and holiday treat okay.
- Avoided junk food (including diet sodas)
- Avoided frozen dinners and processed food.
- Limited daily alcohol consumption to one beer or glass of wine
- Adopted modified Mediterranean diet (very little meat, some seafood, lots of fruit and vegetables, nuts, whole grains)
- Most meals at home
Lessons & tips: Set a series of goals and have fun along the way. My original goals were to (a) reduce total cholesterol below 200 and (b) achieve healthy weight for 5'10" male as defined by the Metlife height and weight chart. I felt so good that I kept going. My weight dropped from 190 lbs.-plus to 150 lbs. Total cholesterol at last check-up was well under 200.

OK, I always thought I was fat in High School and then I found a picture of myself and realized, OMG, I really wasn’t fat. I always thought i was one of the girls who really was. NOPE, SIZE 7! But I sure am now, round, fat, obese even. I have a Pit. tumor releasing xtra prolactin, PCOS, Diabetes, bad Thyroid, you name it. Well, I am tired of acting like there is nothing I can do. If I am going to be fat, I am going down fighting. I have new shoes, an IPOD and I am going to regain my body if it kills me. My plan is walking every day for 6 weeks and then add pilates 3 times a week once the class opens up. I am eating every 2-3 hours and cutting out the crap, all of it. So far, I haven’t been tempted. Although I must admit that the cucumbers and digon mustard on the turkey burger (self made with no fat added) was a bit much. I almost gagged. Still, I am on a mission. I will regain my body. I have 15 years of fat, and what a C-section does to abdominal muscles to make up for. I have set Halloween as my “goal date” and a special present to me if I make the goal.
I now weigh about 20 to 30 pounds more than I did in high school and have had two kids. I am wanting to get back down to my high school weight. I am not considered over weight now but I just feel gross. I think the only thing holding me back is my big sweet tooth.

I have weighed myself and set my goal. I gave myself till May 1 to loose a good portion of what I want to loose. I then set a goal for every two weeks and I think they are really honestly reachable.
So if I can stay on track I can do this. I MUST go to the gym faithfully and stay away from Beer.
Well, thank the Lord I finally found out why I got fat! lOl okay okay my way of dealing with this is humor so don’t get offended at me taking what is going on lightly… I found out earlier this week that I have a tumor on my pituitary gland and its causing the gland to produce elevated levels of prolactine- which is what caused me to get fat!!! I’m so excited to know its just not me being lazy ! Now hopefully I can get back to my original size faster! WOoHoo!

It happened almost overnight. I got fat. I weighed 120 all through high school, and it seems like overnight… I GOT FAT! I gained a total of 74 pounds! WOW! However, I’m’ trying to lose it all and get back to being my normal weight! I started my diet a few days ago, and so far I’ve lost 2 lbs! WoOhOo!
