i am now attempting to trace my genealogy it should be fun and exciting and emotional…
How to trace my genealogy
How I did it: I didn't start till I was twenty. I asked my mother if she had any information. She gave me some so I started looking online. I posted a few questions and a few people made contact and gave me some more leads...next thing I know I meet a whole lot of family...cousins that I never knew I had that they were able to give me into on my father's mother's side and went all the way back to the 1700's in Scotland! I still continue to see if I can find more but I am happy with what I have been able to accomplish.
Lessons & tips: Start with asking family members...parents, grandparents of their family tree and try to go from there. Don't give up or be discouraged as it can take alot of time as you get a piece of the puzzle every now and then.

I’ve done it, but a genealogy is never finished. There are always maiden names to discover, misssing cousins, missing information (where was he born? When?) and all those black sheep with interesting files down at the courthouse- as well as all the boring ancestors (ministers, Mayflower passengers, farmers, etc. yawn who never left any good records to uncover!) Contact me if you need help! I’m now on several genealogy boards, family associations and societies.
with the magicalness of the internet…i seem to have traced back my genealogy…somewhat.
its not exact…bc i cant really go back per family and watnot…but pretty much if u go far enough…and find someone with ur last name…(since my last name is pretty obscure)...they’ll have some sorta link to me.
the earliest i found was
1532 – hernando de elgueta – spanish conquistador with Cortez
