I want to learn!

If you’ve marked this as ‘Not worth it’ where have you been DJing? It’s a wicked buzz if you get to do it at a night you really wanted to play at!!

Just don’t stress about it…as long as you can mix then try your best not to get nervous on the night and it’ll be a right laugh! :D

I need beginner’s dj lessons…. I live in Aberdeen, UK… can anyone help?

Me and my housemate did this last night, at an event I ran down at the student Guild. Our setlist was:
Le Tigre – My My Metrocard
The Kinks – All day and all of the night
The Make-Up – They Live by Night
Deerhoof – Holy Night Fever
The Flying Lizards – Money
The Gossip – Sweet Baby
Sleater Kinney – Entertain
The Grates – Message
The Go! Team – Ladyflash
Trouble Everyday – Kids
The Rapture – Echoes
Bikini Kill – Star-bellied Boy

Obviously no-one danced to this ‘cos they hadn’t heard the songs before, but people still said they enjoyed it :) It was fun and not too difficult either, though we had problems with the record players..

I might be doing this – rather than just the DJ, however, I’m the one organising the entire night! As it’s a sort of “anyone can DJ” type event, there might not actually be time for me to do so..

I practice every other day and I’m constantly buying records. Just need to make a mixtape to show people so I could play a gig somewhere.

Actually, the best part was working the light show.
