The Food Bank in Omaha, NE had their biggest benefit ever yesterday… http://www.owhataduckrace.org.
It was too big for me to do all of the photography myself, so I solicited volunteers and coordinated them to get the job done. It turns out that I had already met two of the three people who helped out, but I did contact unknown people to ask for help.

Wow, the last entry I wrote about this was a year ago. SO much has happened since then. But it’s just within the last month that the most drastic changes have taken place. I’ve met a lot of wonderful people, friends that I really feel comfortable talking to. And it’s made it so much easier to talk to other people too. I can actually hold up my end of the conversation now. I even start conversations now! I’m still not talkative, but that’s just me. When I talk to people, there’s no more of the anxiety of ‘I should be saying more; they’ll think I dislike them; they’ll think I’m boring or weird.” I’m finally free of that. And it seems to get easier everyday, and I’m always glad to find a chance to exercise and build up my conversation skills, which I lacked for so long.
So, finally completed, and I feel great about it!
I’ve been trying to talk to people for maybe half a year. i haven’t really gotten any better. i try but I always say the wrong thing. I can never connect with other people.
I went on a Flickrwalk with a bunch of other photographers today… at one point, I needed a model and I asked a complete stranger to stand in my picture. (She was one of the other Flickrites, but one I had just met a few minutes earlier.)
