I’ve been a vegetarian for 15 years. Now all I’ve got to do is switch to vegan. The biggest problem for me has been giving up cheese and butter. I’ve already switched to soy milk. I tried giving up cheese a couple of years ago, but it only lasted for a few months. Maybe I’ll do better this next go around…

How to go vegan"After seeing what I have seen, I can't imagine other way"
How I did it: It took me 90 days going from meat eater to vegan. I went instantly vegetarian without any knowledge about that veganism exists. Anyway, when I searched for nutrition and recipes, I became more informed about animal rights and veganism. So I became vegan. Lessons & tips: Be sure that you are eating healthy when you are going vegan. Read some nutritional material and don't rely on junk or other processed foods. When you wouldn't consider healthy to eat only bacon as omnivore, how could you think that eating only potato chips would be healthy? You don't have to over-plan, just make meals from variety of foods.

How I did it: After being vegetarian for about nine years, I ordered a pizza one night and thought about how disgusting it was. I tried to keep eating, as delicious as it was, but I kept thinking about where that cheese came out of, the stomach lining, etc. I couldn't go on. I threw the pizza out, cleared out my cupboards and bought all vegan food at the grocery store. It wasn't as hard as I thought, and above the concept of goi… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I became a vegetarian 10 years ago in 2nd grade. I became a vegan earlier this year (in March).I didn't really do any research about my vegetarianism until last September (2008) when I came across Veggie Boards by accident. I learned so much, and it just made complete sense to go vegan. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I didn't go vegan; rather, veganism happened to me.I credit three things to my quick transformation: reading "The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair; reading "Fast Food Nation" (and watching the movie); watching undercover slaughterhouse videos on YouTube. The slaughterhouse videos put me over the edge. The cruelty was unimaginable, and the inhumanity of the workers was like something out of A Clockwork Orange. One particular scene sticks in my mem… Read how I did it…
How I did it: After watching a documentary on google about how chocolate, cheese, meats and sugar were actually physically addicting, I was shocked. I wanted to learn more information about this so I decided to read some books...The Food Revolution and The China Study pretty much convinced me to go vegan for the health reasons. It just felt like the right thing to do so I went for it and just started eating a bunch of vegetables and fruits instead of m… Read how I did it…

Decided to do this after seeing my uncle & grandma struggle and pass away from cancer. They were meat eaters. Then my aunt & other uncle beat cancer by going vegan.

I is hard going out to eat or finding bread with no milk products. But truly I feel much better doing this I don’t think I could go back to my old eating habits. Not too mention how this helps the environment.

i’m giving up on going vegan, since i eat eggs or dairy products with like, every meal of the day… and i’d probably die if i cut that stuff out. oh well, vegetarian is better than nothing.
i will, however, definitely be cutting back. i’ve been drinking soy milk mixed with regular milk (still trying to get used to the weird taste of plain soy milk… hehehe), fake cream cheese, etc. :) i’m definitely making an effort, but do not see myself becoming a full vegan.
I admit it. I’m not ready to give up leather, suede or silk.
But, I would love to become a dietary vegan. I’m sure that many hard-core vegans consider this to be cheating. Sometimes, you have to take small steps. I’ve been a vegetarian for about 5 years now. And I haven’t eaten pork or beef in about 9 years.
Right now my largest addiction is dairy (especially cheese) and eggs. Giving up cheese and eggs will be very difficult.
I tried to go vegan in August. It only lasted for about three days. Maybe 2 and a half.
This time, I am going to try to detox using The Master Cleanser, and then ease into a vegan lifestyle. After fasting, I will try to add foods that do not include eggs or cheese into my diet.
Today, I had two slices of pizza. If all goes well, that will be the last (nonvegan, real cheese) pizza I have in a long time. We’ll see!
I’ve been wanting to be vegan for almost a year, but it’s hard seeing I live with three proud carnivors. I cut out all red meat back in april, and went full vegietarian in early august. I decided one night at dinner not to put any meat on my plate and after being shouted at by my parents they gave in. I doubt to become vegan while in high school, but once I’m living on my own in college it’s full vrgan time.
This is a little harder to start back up than I thought it would be! I keep forgetting – I was at this nice little local/organic buffet the other day and grabbed myself a few deviled eggs, and remembered after I’d eaten most of them that I had resolved to be vegan – and that was at a place with tons of vegan options! Ack!
On the upside, I’m almost out of non-vegan items at home, so the home transition is going smoothly. And I’m trying out some new recipes – I just made a lentil soup I wouldn’t have tried if I hadn’t been looking up cheap vegan things, and it was fantastic!
Now I feel slightly less guilty regarding the negative impact of my lifestyle on the environment.
I was vegan for nearly three years, but then I moved around a lot and became vegetarian, got in a few situations where I ate some meat, and now am vegetarian on my way back to vegan. I live in a really vegan friendly town, so I think being vegan while home will be pretty easy. However, I travel a lot to rural areas for work, and being vegan while travelling will be a trick.
I’m going to use up all my non-vegan items here at home, I’m just not going to buy anymore. This is a work in progress.

these images are very unsettling, but prove a good point.
Just so you know, they aren’t gory or nothing, in case you’re not into that.
