Missed her in Nz and well, the CD will simply have to be good enough until the next opportunity to see Bic Runga live…

God she was amazing! 3 years ago

I think I actually preferred hearing her live than listening to the three albums I have. This was just her wonderful voice accompanied by her either playing the guitar or piano. Only for one song did her Guitar tech join her (he played piano, while she played guitar and sang).

    That voice is just incredible!

Just an observation, but I thought she looked tired and fragile. It might have just been the bright lights and some of her mannerisms… not knowing her personally, I couldn’t comment. She seemed fine while chatting to the audience though.

I saw her in the Monmouth Savoy theatre. It was a lovely intimate venue. At one point she asked for requests… most people asked to hear ‘drive’ or ‘sway’ (her more popular songs). I asked for ‘she left on a monday’ which I absolutely love. She started playing it almost immediately (as if relieved to get asked for something other than the released singles). It sent shivers up my spine as I listened to it (It has a lot of meaning for me).

I did want to meet her and talk to her. Possibly to apologise for mangling her song once in a talent-event (I can’t sing). But apart from telling her how beautiful her voice is and how her songs have affected me, I doubt I’d make interesting conversation – so I’d rather spare her the embarrassment.

I’d seen her sister’s band (Stellar*) play years ago. They were fantastic too. I think she has another sister who has sung with Strawpeople too – so that family is abundant in talent.

Saw her for the 2nd time in Los Angeles (venue: Largo). Short set, but sounded fantastic! She says she is coming back in a few months for a US tour, so hopefully I’ll get to see her again when she returns!

    very good 3 years ago

heard of a one off show in camden town and had no choice but to take my girlfriend and us go see her…

the venue dingwalls is initimite and suits her music, as you can imagine to say its “worth doing” is a bit of an understatement. She played some interesting new stuff from Birds, stuff iv heard for the first time…and i want to hear it again!

    Really enjoyed it.

    Yay. 3 years ago

I’ve seen here once before, but I’d like to see her if/when she tours the U.S. to promote her new record.
