Get a Taiwanese Driving License

My scooter was not “standard” as it’s a 25 year-old Vespa and doesn’t have mirrors. I had to borrow their crummy scooter for the road test, but I still passed.

It’s great to drive around and not worry about being pulled over and fined.

I spent the entire afternoon trying to figure out how to get my license. I (drove) first to one DMV and then to another, where despite the assurances of the first, they were soon to close. I managed to get my physical and written exam, but had no time to take the road test.

What’s funny is that I got lost on the way home and got pulled over by the police. They didn’t ask for my license, which would have been silly – I would have produced proof of passing the written part…

Hopefully tomorrow!

I need to take an afternoon to go to the Taiwanese DMV and just get this thing. Until I do, I’ll be cringing at every police blockade!
