I am seeing wind of Shaolin on 12th of Feb. It was a gift from my hubby and me to my family for Christmas. We will all see it together :)

I went to an evening of historical Chines Myth Dancing. The costumes were beautiful…and very interesting to learn of the stories behind their dances. This was a New York based chinese dance troop. There must have been at least 40 dancers. The most impressive was the 30 or so huge drums that were played.. like the drums int he opening of this past Olympics.

I don’t know the correct name, but I sure was amazed at what all those young people could do. Who, could ever bend that way! Very talented, great to see another cultures stage art. What is next?
SECOND_TIME_AROUND Doing what it takes to lose!
I decided, it is Saturday, and time to do something great for me! So no more cleaning, but stopped to look throught he paper and found something to see, and immediately picked up the phone and made the reservation! 1 1/2 hr later I was in the theatre..and then watched Menopause. Funny, and I’m in the right age bracket..was a great day! Tomorrow I have a ticket for something else! Just do it!
i’ve seen three plays and one dance concert- all excellent. we have finally figured out how to see more but who to see!
SECOND_TIME_AROUND Doing what it takes to lose!
I used to go to NY City twice a year to see plays. Those were the days. Now I don’t even look to see what is playing in town 5 miles away. Theatre is everywhere, I want to get back to going, and see those slices of life under the lights and hear the big sounds of the live music! Experienced RENT a few weeks ago…

2008 Menopause
2008 Chine Circus
I’m so glad I did this, finally (my idea of success was always getting to the point of going to more plays than movies). Having a compatible theater-loving partner was essential (and amazingly hard to find)!
We saw the Nutcracker Suite performed by a local ballet school. I really enjoyed it. I had never seen a ballet before and had only seen pieces of the nutcracker on tv. The dancers were beautiful. There were a few professionals doing some of the harder parts, but the majority of the cast were children, some younger than Rachel. I wish I had continued with dance when I was younger. Of course, everytime I see a show, I get all wistful and think, “I could be doing that.”
