I was raised as a good little catholic girl and was even taught by nuns in gradeschool. I should note however, that I am not at all religious and might even be somewhere between agnosticism and atheism if I was pressed to indicate my affiliation. However, I miss Christmas. I miss the secular traditions associated with the Christmas holiday. I miss being able to say “Merry Christmas” without someone assuming you are foisting your religion on them. I want to save Christmas, the secular holiday. The holiday when regardless of one’s belief system and affiliation humanity reflects on the values of love and peace and where for a very short time we are all just a little bit more generous and a little bit kinder to each other.
