I’ve been working for RoyalBlue for 18 days now, and I’m loving it. The work is great – still a little daunting at the moment since the software is so complex, but there’s tasks I can do unaided now so I don’t feel as useless as I did on the first couple of days. The training is pretty enjoyable too, and the commute really isn’t too bad since I live so close to the station. The real gem of this job is the people. My team is an amazing group of guys – they’ve got great personalities, and collectively there’s an awesome ambience. They’re also a great laugh outside of the office – there’s a weekly pub-housed get-together that everyone makes an appearance in at least once in a while, and most Friday lunchtimes the girls get together for a gossip. It’s awesome and I’m loving it – and yeah, the paychecks are great too. Obviously! 5 years ago

I had an interview yesterday morning which lasted a few hours – and I’d been offered the job by dinnertime! The paperwork should arrive in the post tomorrow morning. It’s a job I really wanted and I’m utterly gobsmacked that I got it, so I’ve been bouncing off the walls for the last 30 hours or so! I start at the beginning of September and can’t wait. 5 years ago

As soon as I accomplish one of these things (graduating from University) another one rears its head! Ah well, ‘tis the way. I graduated this month and now I’m on the hunt for the first job in my forthcoming IT career. I’ve a few on the go at the moment, and hopefully I’ll impress one of them enough to get in there and start learning and getting some experience. Oh yeah, and earning the money to start paying off my student debt! 5 years ago

Don’t stress out too much about what career you start out with. You’re likely to switch entire careers a few times in your lifetime anyways. 6 years ago
