I plan to travel to Lindisfarne this August. I have book two nonsucessive weeks. So there is plenty of scope to go. I have even looked at hotel prices, with self-catering being viewed to be self-defeating.
I’m currently in my second year at university, and this summer will be my final long (3 month) holiday. I’ve had a long holiday pretty much every year between year 11 and now, and each summer i’ve sat round not doing anything, getting bored and getting depressed.
The key thing, I’ve come to realise, is advanced planning. When it comes to thinking about these things, I often avoid them by claiming I’ve got too much to do in the present moment and so my time would better be spent thinking about those things rather than planning ahead. But I’ve also come to realise that I’ll ALWAYS have “too many” things to sort out in the present moment – the best tactic would just be to go for it.
My current ideas for things to do this holiday are drumming in this steelpan band in west london, and travelling. Both need to be sorted out, particularly the latter as it will be more complicated. Need to set a deadline and go for it!!!
