Had issues & scalpelled back up to 2g. Waiting for the other ear to be ready for 1g. One of these days! 7 months ago

I taped my plugs last week, increasing every other day or so, and finally yesterday morning after my shower I was able to put in my new grey glass plugs!
The left one stuck a bit getting it out, so it’s a little sore today, but I’ll take a shower later and see how it’s doing.
Think the glass spirals I tried to put in before might be on the large size, which is why I was having trouble. In a week or so I hope to be wearing them! 23 months ago
I got out of the shower the other day and tried to insert my clear glass simple spirals (which are ridiculously beautiful, crystal clear.)
Nothing doing – I think my ears take longer to stretch and I’m not willing to shove them in (very bad idea.) 2 years ago
The rule is that for every 1 mm you’ve stretched up, you should wait approximately three months until the next stretch. So hopefully by around December 7, my lobes will have relaxed enough to insert the 0g jewelry with no pain. If not, I will wait a bit longer, as you should never forcefully stretch. 2 years ago
Got my pyrex plugs last night. Tonight I did my “stretching ritual:” I got in a nice, hot shower and soaped up my lobes. After getting out, I rubbed a TON of jojoba oil onto them. Next, I cleaned the earrings themselves with Dr. Bronners tea tree soap and oiled them up as well. Finally, I prepared to put the first one in – as usual, it slid right in with not the slightest hint of being a bigger size (it’s a 1mm difference from my previous size).
I am actually stunned by how beautiful these plugs are – they’re clear, but the smooth circular front reflects light in a way that makes them look like the big round old-lady pearl earrings I love. They’re incredibly smooth, delicate but have a weight to them. I just adore glass jewelry.
Feeling happy and proud – after a few months, I will be ready to move the last millimeter to a 0 gauge (8 mm.) 2 years ago
I chose clear pyrex plugs, which I think might actually work for the wedding I’m in, as my necklace has clear beads and pearls. We’ll see when I get them, I can always throw in the black gemstone 2g ones I have now.
I LOVE wearing glass jewelry and it should be good for my ears, as I think I’m allergic to the stainless steel I’ve been wearing. 2 years ago
First forum I’ve found with extensive posts on stretching. I have lately been self-conscious of my lobes, thinking that perhaps they are a bit irritated, but after browsing through some of the galleries there, I think they’re pretty normal.
Btw, I’m still lingering sadly at a 2. I have “deadstretched” for my last few increases, mainly because I sleep with jewelry in and I think that for me, it pushes my ears to keep stretching. Each size up has gone in with no pain or tightness.
But looking at the goorgeous glass spirals I ordered a few months ago, I know my ears are NOT that big. It’s a massive jump…. Although 1g jewelry is rare, I think I might need to go that route. I just can’t see deadstretching like that, and I don’t want to taper on my own (me scared.) Taping would be an option but I think it irritates my ears… 2 years ago
