    This is too specific a goal for me... 3 years ago

    I’m finding this actually discourages me, probably because if I lose focus for EVEN one day I’ve failed. I need a goal worded differently. I need something more specific than ‘eat healthier’, but worded positively to encourage me and allow a little room to mess up once in a while.

    I’m dropping this goal.

    I keep track of every calorie, carbohydrate, fat, and protein I eat now. I get really panicked when I go over or don’t get enough of them. I’d rather be overzealous with this than underzealous, though. I’m proud of my sustained efforts with this.

    because I ate out twice yesterday and only exceeded my fat grams by a few. This was with having a cheeseburger and some Pizza Hut Pan Pizza, too. Two things that normally hurt most people. This is not a typical thing for me to eat, but I was very happy that I was able to do it. Doing my other website activity has greatly focused me in on this goal. I believe I’m there again where I need to be focus-wise, so I’m retiring this goal again. :)

    Intensive focus week one's results: 3 years ago

    They are very mixed. I have done very well for the most part, but there have been a couple of days that could have used some improvement. Today, I was at the mercy of fast food, and could have made better choices but didn’t due to some bad decision making skills. One thing I consumed today I really knew better than to get, but found myself doing it anyway. I am the world’s best at justification sometimes, and I really can’t justify that. I will continue to try to do better next week. I know I’m hard on myself, but I have to be!!! I will get no where with this goal if I don’t.

    Overall I would give myself a C- on my performance with this goal. This must improve, and it will.

    One small victory 3 years ago

    Yesterday, I ate out at a Mexican restaurant, one of my favorites in fact. Anyway, I had “a lot” of chips and salsa because I love it there. I was kind of worried about it, but I did not exceed any of my dietary ranges for that day! Yea Me! I am beginning to get a handle on how I can have more of what I want without making my plan suffer.

    This weekend... 3 years ago

    killed me! :( I really didn’t do well at all on Saturday. But, the good news is I’m back on track today, and I’m going to be thinking of how to avoid a repeat of Saturday this coming one. There’s a possibility I’ll have to eat fast food twice. So, before Saturday, I’ll have to research what is best at each of the three major chains: McD, BK and Wendy’s. I do love the salads at each of them, thankfully. I just can’t believe that I’m going to have to look at a bunch of people eating fast food french fries! :O (I won’t eat those if they’re the last food on earth!)

    I had two cookies at lunch, but it’s not going to kill me today. I’m finding that working with my wellness website in meal planning is a huge help to me. I’m also finding that I struggle with getting enough fat in my diet, too, without going over on calories or other areas. I’m getting really focused on this, because I’ve gotten in a routine of using the site before I plan dinner. I’m nervous about this weekend, though, because I’m going to be out-of-town where I’ll more than likely not have good options for at least a third of my meals, and no internet access to help me figure out what kind of values my foods will have. I’m determined at this point to make very few exceptions for myself, and to use a lot of common sense about what food choices I make. I also should keep in mind if I don’t do very well this weekend, I should do exceedingly well this coming week!

    Focusing on this goal... 3 years ago

    doesn’t mean perfect performance thankfully, because today I went a little over my calories and carbs. While I’m a little disappointed in this, I decided to use this as a learning experience to figure out what different choices I could have made to make my ranges instead of exceed them. So, I will have better knowledge next time. I also noticed that today I did not have but about a third of my calorie needs fulfilled with my breakfast, lunch and snack. This may have attributed to my being so hungry at dinner. I will have to monitor this more closely.

    Regaining some control over this goal... 3 years ago

    by using my recommended dietary ranges today and staying within them! :D I’m so proud of myself for doing this. If you’re wondering where my dietary ranges come from, I get them from this website. This way is so much simpler than having to follow a bunch of rules, but it is important to have a well-balanced diet. It’s just a little time-consuming entering all the data sometimes. However, a friend pointed out to me that I spend quite a lot of time on this site, and maybe I can sacrifice some of that time to work on other goals. I think my friend is right about this.
