"Finishing something is amazing and very much worth it."
How I did it: I have many many stories that i have started and never finished. Twenty five to be exact. The problem is I start one, then get distracted by another story idea. I know how they end, and have a hard time actually writing them out so others can know. Finally, i decided to start one from scratch that would be only a short story. I would not focus on every little detail, because that's not what short stories are about. So i thought about all the short stories i loved as a tried to remember the summation part of the writing process.
After that i just tried to think of a idea that would intrigue me to write about. For me, finishing this story wasn't about the story, but rather just about finishing something for once in my life. I've gotten into the bad habit of leaving things unfinishied and i finally, finally finished one of them.
Lessons & tips: If you're having trouble finishing, do what i did. Force yourself to keep writing and finish, even if you think it sucks. You can always edit it later. Once its finished, it will just need to be edited , and even if its a lot of editing, it will be much easier.
