Why She Wrote 7 months ago

I am in the process of trying to resurrect my old blog. It’s been a long time that I’ve had a haven for my thoughts, and I miss it. I’ve been terrible at writing lately, even in my paper journals and I hope that blogging will help me to find those conversations with myself again.

Andres and I have also started a financial blog together to help us keep track of our progress. We’re trying to clear all of our debt using Dave Ramsey’s principles so that we can buy a house within the next year. So far, so good!

I think I was more self actualized when I blogged.

sigh. is anyone even still there? 8 months ago

I actually had readers. Not a zillion, but people besides family and friends read my blo and commented on it. The first time I let it fall by the wayside, I got e-mails from those who missed it. Now… I’ve done it again. Let my crazybusy life get in the way.

And, the thing is, I think about it. I think about what i would write, I just don’t take that next step by sitting down at the computer and transferring the posts from my brain to the screen.

I’ve got to figure out a way to get back to it…

Finally updated my homepage 11 months ago

Still not really blogging, but at least I cleaned the out-of-date crud out of my homepage (Charles Starrett) and began laying a better foundation for my (eventual) blog…

Whoops! I have! 15 months ago

My original idea behind “start blogging again” would be to finally pull together my own website (at my domain) and blog, but I quite certain that the scope that project has been what has kept me from blogging altogether. So, I’ve started again in a limited fashion elsewhere:

First, I revived my tumblr site Done is Good for the purposes of documenting my attempt at completing SoFoBoMo. (See my tumblr site for more info…)

Second, I’ve created a new blog on Blogspot only because I already had an account there, and I’m going to try to write about exploring my own MBTI and what that means for me. See Idealist without a Cause for more on that.

So, I guess if I really do keep up with blogging on these two sites for at least a couple of weeks, I can mark this Thing as “done” since I will have “started.”

Voila!

So what, if hardly anyone was reading it. 2 years ago

In the beginning it was all about me. About getting my thoughts out. I missed it.

I think I've finally got it! 2 years ago

I finally thought of a “theme” to tie together a blog. Something that reflects both one of my core values and how I spend most of my time as a stay-at-home dad. Hopefully in the coming week (when the munchkins are back in school) I’ll have some time to implement it.
