My cousin just found out that she’s having a girl and I want to knit baby booties for her as well as a blanket. Now the blanket is not a problem but when I try to read the knitting instructions it’s all greek to me. Can anyone help me find instructions in plain english??? Thanks

I finished knitting booties for my new niece before she got too big for them. (always a challenge when knitting for babies!)
I AM LOOKING FOR A KNITTING PATTERN FOR BABY BOOTIES THAT DON’T FALL OFF EASILY
Does anyone have a (simple) baby bootie pattern that is written in plain English and not knitting speak? I’ve taught myself to knit but I can’t find a pattern online that I can make sense of!

My mom is due in November the 4th.
Since I just learned to knit I thought I could make him some newborn baby booties.
Problem is, I can’t seem to understand the instructions from a book I bought that is for beginners.Plus I’m not very sure how all the pieces would fit together. It’s like the instructions are imcomplete when it comes to the side of the booties.
I’m thinking of just buying a new pattern.
Can anyone suggest a good, easy pattern they used?
Any help would be soo useful! thank!! :D

I used buttons I found in my mother’s old button box. Mom kept this old Tetley Tea can in the china cabinet with her sewing box. When one of our school blouses got ripped or was so threadbare from too many hand-me-downs, she would snip off the buttons and keep them for when we needed a replacement button another time. They were uniforms and always came from the same company. Other buttons were in there too, but the blouse buttons were perfect for the Sjaartje’s Bootees.
And gee, if they’re 40 years old or so are they antiques?
Finished my booties last night, after managing scrips and scraps of knitting time during the week. Found the simplest pattern possible. She’s wearing them now, and I think they look cute, although far from professional :b
Next I’m going to try some baby socks in the same wool – the pattern is a bit more complicated but still easy.
Had been trying to find warm little booties for my daughter for the past couple of weeks when a friend of mum’s gave us a pair of good old-fashioned baby booties. They seriously kick the arse of all other kinds of baby slippers/shoes! So it’s now my mission to make some more for her to last through winter. Going to Spotlight this afternoon to get a knitting book and some wool!!
