Worth doing!

I now feel like I have two new friends in this soon-to-be-my-hometown. we had so much in common, which was such an unexpected and sweet surprise. I went trail running with m., yoga soup with j. and spent lots of time relaxing and hanging out. we hope to meet up again this summer, either when they come up to the bay area, or when I go back down.

I just found out about this recently and am looking forward to trying it the next time I travel! I also thought it sounded like such a great idea I recommended it to someone I know who is planning a trip to India and other Southeastern Asia areas. I haven’t set up a profile yet but I am going to soon.

Worth doing!

I am in NYC, couchsurfing, and I am very happy with it. I am having turkey right now, watching Paranormal (I never watch TV). I was out until 6 AM and today I shopped and went to church, and my social plans tonight unfortunately fell through. I know it’s 10 pm and I could go out, but I probably won’t. I’ll get up early tomorrow and shop some more.

all through my early 20’s. I had incredible good luck. I’m not talking about substituting for renting an apt., I mean to visit new places.

The thing is, I’ve also been open to having people stay at my place, in fact I do have a guest room so I can return the favour and it’s a pleasure. But, often when I invited people to visit, they never came. So I stopped inviting people overtly.

But, I am ready to do it again!

Worth doing!

I got to use couchsurfing for the first time driving from Baltimore to St. Louis. I stayed with some really nice people in Indianapolis with a ton of cats. Great way to meet cool people and to avoid motels.

I tried to couchsurf in Denver this summer, but my schedule just never lined up with the people I contacted. I did meet a few couchsurfers for coffee though, which was fun, if a little awkward.

I’d like to try it again though, ad to try hosting. This weekend I’m riding to Sarasota with a friend of a friend who I have never met and I will be staying at his parents house. That’s kind of like couchsurfing…
