And this is a supremely important goal to me because not only is it about shoes, it’s about being okay with my height and being confident. So, I’m going to buy some fabulous shoes and get started!

How I did it: Practice! I wore heels most of the time I was awake. I made the mistake of starting with actual heels and found that wedges are easier. I found several ankle exercises on the web meant to strengthen them. This helped too I think. Read how I did it…

How I did it: My boyfriend had this huge thing on high heels. And he always told me that my legs would look better if I wear high heels. So, I did it! I bought my first pair that was blank and almost wore them out. But I had to. I started buying high heels a lot, and instead of going for ballerina shoes, I just decided to buy some more. How I did it: When I first wore even short heels or wedges I always tripped over myself. It was because I was so self conscious. I stopped wearing them for a long time because I felt so silly in them, until one day when I was going out and the only thing I could've worn with my outfit was a pair of heels. At first I was a little worried I'd make a fool of myself but after a while I just tried to forget I was wearing them and it worked! Read how I did it…
How I did it: Honestly, I think it's a natural phenomenon for the women in our family. I had my first pair of high heels at age 8 (not the real deal stilettos or anything, but they were high for an 8 year old). It just came naturally to me. Read how I did it…

in my high heeled sandals yesterday, but that’s the first time in months. Got to try harder!

I bought a pair of wedges over the weekend. They are the kind with the ribbon that wraps around your ankle. A lot easier to walk in!

I’ve discovered that high heels and chasing kids don’t go together! Not unless you want a lot of bruises from falling! When the kids are not here, I keep them on – most of the time. When the kids are here it’s Nikes for me!
I did wear a pair of “reasonable” heels to a dinner party over the weekend without stumbling. Between the heels and my newly pierced ears, I felt really sexy.
Lolly just is.
I’m mastered wedges. I’ve been out a few times lately and worn platform wedges instead of heels and so far I can dance and walk in them and did so for 9 hours last week but the next day I was in serious pain. I think I’ll carry on with the wedges until I a) stop hurting so much the next day and b) find a pair of heels that I like.

The more you wear them the easier it gets. I have tried to wear them all the time around the house. That way there is always something to hold on to. I tried them out at dinner last night. Eventually I gave up and put on some “sensible” flats.

I ordered two pairs of heels from Fredericks to go along with the 3” pair I picked up at the mall from JC Penney. One was a rather “sensible” pair of black pumps with a terrifying 4” heel. The other has a 4 1/2” heel. I don’t think I’ll be walking around in those much yet. I want to be able to by the end of July when we go to Las Vegas for David’s business trip.
andrea it's time i got back to the good life
Okay, I got some wedges from Naturalizer and I love them. Whenever I wear them I feel very stable and can get some good practice for walking in heels. I’m starting to think I should switch to only Naturalizer because they’re so comfy you don’t even think about the heel.
messaahhhh is supposed to be working!
Well….I work in an office environment, so I have to dress up a little. I was wearing flats all of the time, never really wore heels. Recently they got on my case about dressing nicer. So I went on a shoe shopping spree with my gay guy friend and ended up buying 6 pairs, all at least 5in. I just wore them everywhere…I got the hang of it. The trick is putting your weight on the pads of your feet, or the middle of your foot. Don’t be scared, be confident. Listening to Britney Spears helped me with confidence…no joke.
Ack, i wanna learn so badly. i’ve been told I have great legs and that I can could definitely emphasize them even more if I wore heels. I just…can’t. I feel so awkward in them. I’ve worn little bitty, kitten heels before…those are fine. But anything higher than that kills. I’m okay walking around my house, but once I get outside it’s a different story. I get horrible cramps in my calves and I just feel so silly – like I look like a child teetering around in her mom’s heels. When I try on pairs of heels in the store I always feel so sexy and grown up, but I feel like I would look foolish if I wore them for real.
