i have 0 so far. but tomorrow is sunday. its a new beginning. i think im gonna keep them in plastic sleeves in a binder. also, my first attempt at being truly organized.
I keep reading about middle-age soccer moms paying only $5 for $100 groceries. I like the idea of using money saved shopping for savings. Tomorrow is Sunday. I can’t think of a better time to start on this goal.
I went on a massive grocery run yesterday. I have another goal to only buy necessities for the month of March so I had to stock up on my non-perishable foods. I have been cutting coupons for a couple of weeks and used them for the first time yesterday. I saved $56 and got $406 worth of groceries for $350. My plan is to use coupons each shopping trip now. Then, when I get home from my shopping trips, I will take the amount that I saved and transfer from my checking to my savings. Then once a year, use it to splurge on a weekend getaway.
I used to clip coupons, but I find that getting online coupons is so much easier. You just upload the types of things you like to buy and they only show you those types of things!
It saves a bunch of time and the coupons are usually better than the ones you find in the flier.
I started by using these online grocery coupons
I’m giving this one up – I never really read anything that has coupons in it, but I do collect store points a lot.
I do this every week, and also use coupons for food and clothes. You would be surprised how much you can save if you just take the time, clip the coupon, remember to take it to the store and use it. I use coupons whenever department stores put them in the paper or their advertising flyer. Places like Belk and Hecht’s, when they place coupons in the paper, clip them and use them, because usually when they offer a coupon they are also having a sale and have marked items down. So, you’re getting triple savings sometimes. For example a month ago Belk had a $10 off coupon, I bought my daughter a pair of jeans that were orginally $40, they had been marked down to $19.99, with the coupon my total was $10.69, a savings of $30.01!!! Give it a try!!!
I try to be frugal and save money, and it really seems that I end up spending more than I need to. I was really good at clipping coupons and getting them elsewhere. I need to get that back going again.
