visit Notre Dame cathedral

I went to paris about 6 years ago and we went there our first day!! I was in aw, i took so many pictures. and when we returned to the states, i went into treatment and for my birthday they gave me a framed tapestry of notre dame, simply amazing. it’s hanging in my living room.

...they ring the bells more often. i was outside at the top of a sunday morning hour back in 2000… i cried when those bells rang. never waited in line to get in (sacre coeur, i imagine, was very similar – and my friend and i did see the inside of that one and climb the tower stairs…) but the outside is amazing – great photo ops.

Even though Notre Dame is super-touristy, it’s definitely worth visiting. If it’s crowded, one good (and slightly lesser known option) is to check out the towers. If you’re a student, especially an art history student, they might even let you cut to the front of the line.

I went to Paris in the fall of 1999 and visited lots of touristy places. The steps up to the top of Notre Dame are small and steep… there are upwards of 1,000 steps, by far the tallest staircase I’ve ever climbed.
