    I’ve been reading :D
instead of getting on the computer all the time, I just start reading, and after about two minutes I’m enthralled (usually)
I realize how much I’ve always enjoyed reading

I am currently reading A Series of Unfortunate Events (Book 2). I have got all of the books up to number 12 but I am hoping that number 13 (unlucky number) will come out soon. I have read them all before and it was really interesting and has twisting ends and stuff. I need new and interesting books to read. I am currently reading before I go to bed for 30 minutes or so, or when I finished a chapter. Anyways good luck and keep up the good work everyone! :D

    Quote :

    Dear Reader,

You are presumably looking at the back of this book, or the end of the end. The end of the end is the best place to begin the end, because if you read the end from the beginning of the beginning of the end to the end of the end of the end, you will arrive at the end of the end of your rope.

This book is the last in A Series of Unfortunate Events, and even if you braved the previous twelve volumes, you probably can’t stand such unpleasantries as a fearsome storm, a suspicious beverage, a herd of wild sheep, an enormous bird cage, and a truly haunting secret about the Baudelaire parents.

It has been my solemn occupation to complete the history of the Baudelaire orphans, and at last I am finished. You likely have some other occupation, so if I were you I would drop this book at once, so the end does not finish you.

I bought myself a book yesterday. 3 years ago

It is the first book I’ve ever bought completely on my own accord, not under any reccomendation/necessity or otherwise. Just for me. It was a David Sedaris book called “Me Talk Pretty One Day”, and I love it.

So the key to this goal: read for complete and utter selfish enjoyment :)

I read part of Walden today... 3 years ago

...but I couldn’t take too much of it at once. Philosophy is best when taken in bite-sized chunks, I’ve learned. Otherwise I start getting confused, and everything just starts sounding like ramblin’ nonsense.

I was actually just reading it to get some ideas for text for a song cycle I want to do this fall. Some of it flowed really nicely, but I don’t think I could justly chop out the bits of Thoreau that I liked and say to hell with the rest. No, I need something more like poetry, but with just as much philosophy. That’s what gets my goose goin, doncha know?

    Tomorrow? Whitman, I daresay.

For at least an hour everyday. I am currently reading the maker’s diet. It has had an impact on what I eat and buy at the market already. I am looking forward to finishing it. I have a hrd time putting it down. However, I need reading glasses and the print is rather small.

Ooh, I finished HHGTTG last night. It was pretty much the same as the movie. Which is OK. I think I’m one of the few people who actually liked that movie. Thought it was hilarious, actually. Esp. the song and dance number with the dolphins.

    Anyway.

Now I am going to finish “House on Mango Street” and start this Walt Whitman collection I got for my song cycle.

    Hooray for books!

I don't know about this... 3 years ago

I just can’t limit myself to 15. When I start reading a book I get really into I don’t want to stop reading it until I’m finished. And then I feel sad when it’s over.

It may sound strange, but the characters and plot begin to haunt my dreams, and I think it is in more of my life than it actually is.

Hm. I think I am on the precipice of addiction. Uh oh. At least summer is almost here, and I can waste a few months aways with some books sans guilt for not doing any real work :)
