I take this for granted, and never believe it if somebody pointed it out – I am overly sensitive to any personal comment. I don’t want to feel this way anymore and will actively work to change that about me.
a. Facing criticism: Everything seems magnified when I hear criticism about myself. Next time I am faced with this, I will accept it, if its meant as a joke and make a witty comment (even if its in my head) to laugh it off. Nobody ever launches a personal assault, at least not everyday.
b. Learn to take a compliment: If somebody wishes me well or praises me, I will not shrug it off, as if it were by chance, but instead, I will say “thank you” and stop ruminating about it. I don’t have to feel guilty about being good. Instead, I will be happy and celebrate it.
c. Learn to enjoy movies and comedies, not in a temporal sense, but actually enjoy the experience so I can remember it at a later time: Sense of humor can only be active if you stop focusing on yourself.
