knit my niece a sweater

I finished a sweater for my one-year-old niece. Technically, it was not the first one, since the first sweater I knitted for my nephew (her brother) never fitted him, so she was the one to use it.

In a few years it’ll be too late!

I started the sleeves. I’m doing both at the same time so they’ll be identical.

Yay! The body is done. I need to do two sleeves, sew it together and do the crochet edging. I cast on for a matching hat this weekend.

It’s going to be a cardigan, and I’ve split the stitches already. I’m almost done with the back. I think I should be able to finish by the baby shower at Easter.

She won’t be born until May, so I have time, and I have the yarn and the patterns and the needles, but I have to do it, and I’m worried it won’t be good enough or it won’t fit.
