I have what I’ve been told is a great short story for a movie idea. How do I goe about getting it made into a movie? I know nothing about the industry. I’m a poet and aurthor.

i have it here and i can’t decide whether to watch it or go to bed.

So a very sweet and kind person from 43t sent me an Amazon gift voucher for my birthday (the generosity of strangers at this site never ceases to amaze me) and i’m having a wonderful time trawling the shelves in search of an awesome book (yeah i know Amazon is more than books, but i love books so much…)

Please can YOU dear subscriber / person who stumbled across this post give me one recommended book that I can consider spending this on?

background info… i live on the same property as my elderly parents. my dad has cancer (in remission) Parkinsons and early dementia. My mom is a hypochondriach and has always been, but also a cancer survivor. all my many siblings have emigrated with their families and i am a single mom who has ended up in the role of caregiver. i do not mind helping my parents who have both helped me enormously but i do get exhausted and i resent having this responsibility with no other family around to help. my one sister emailed me tonight, as follows

I am writing this as I love you and am concerned about where you go from here. You might not agree with me or even see what Im trying to say , but I hope u will for your own and Mum sake.
I really think that you need to find a way of starting to detach yourself from Mum and Dad as their dependancy on you is not only unhealthy for you but them too. Having gone to all those co-dependancy groups Im sure I dont need to go there much but sometimes when you are in the situation its hard to see things clearly. Their dependancy on you will only increase as the years go by and if you do want to travel with Raph at any time soon it will be good if they are more dependant on each other than you. I dont think we should write Dad off yet but I do think that the more we do for him the less he will do, putting strain on to Mom. Maybe they need the space to have to help each other rather than being able to lean heavily on you. I know they are not particularly strong but they are both adults who have managed the past 50 years together. For your own sake look at ways to allow them to depend on each other more and less on you.

Obviously should the time come when either of them need nursing care we would fly over to help, that goes without saying and I dont think you should ever think that we would expect you to do that.

so you’ve had sex, it was great, good, wonderful, everyone is feeling satisfied and there’s no more happening in the immediate future.

what do you like to do next? what does your partner if you have one that is a regular fixture in your life like to do? are you compatible in this way? how do you handle it if one of you wants to sleep and one wants to watch tv or talk or have a shower?

so suddenly my laptop (which is fairly new, couple months) will not play music or any sounds through any set of earphones. i was listening to music this morning quite happily, then had to reboot for some reason and after that even though the music plays when i unplug the ear phones when i plug them in no sound comes through. i tested with other ear phones and even though they work on my MP3 player no sound from the laptop.

A fellow-cape town flickrite emailed me today and asked if i would let him take some portrait shots of me. He’s practicing on various people and i think it wuld be fun, i sat for a photographer in the UK once but i was a LOT younger then, so even though i agreed (and hope to pick up a few pointers on portraiture in return) i’m feeling somewhat self-conscious… it’s not sitting for the pics i mind it’s not aving ccntrol over which ones to delete and which to keep…

Option A:
You are the only human left on Earth. You can be anywhere you want. You know how to provide for youself; food, shelter and security will not be a problem. The main point here is that your are free to roam the Earth, but you will have no human contact for the rest of your life. (this is only about you, no one dies)

Option B:
You are confined to a single home with no windows. People can come visit you whenever you want, but you cannot go outside, ever. Logistics problem are taken care of, like that granny 3000 miles away suddenly doesn’t need you to go see her, she can come to you no problem. Anything you need, including medical care & equipment, is brought to your home.
You can’t even open the front door. Visitors enter through a double-door system where they first close the outside door before opening the inside door. You have a telephone and text-only internet (no images). Your world consists of yourself and all the people you know (and new people), and your memories.

anyone know how to contact a fellow member to ask s/he about their success in accomplishing their goal?

i can’t seem to figure this site out and when i try to ask something in city hall i can’t. i get an error message saying i can’t ask questions yet.
