Barack Visitng NYC 2 years ago

There I was checking my mail and received a notice from Obama letting me know he’s coming to visit my city on the 27th. I got so excited because I’ve been waiting for him to visit like forever. Problem is am away at school and I have classes on the 27th plus a test that I can’t miss. Talk about bad timing, am so mad because I really wanted to see him. Also he still haven’t signed my books and give me my hug LOLLLLLL.

Who knows when he’ll ever come back to visit the big apple and whether am gonna be able to go then. Such a long anticipated wait and it seems like it was for nothing because I can’t be there. Better luck the next time arround for me I guess.

    My Barack 2 years ago

I don’t know about you but I was glued to CNN last night for the democratic debate. Obama was looking hansome as usual, his use of words to answer the questions he was asked was very good, but then again what did you expect from a harvard graduate. He had me at ahhhh…... he’s so adorable I can’t get enough of him LOL

Obama's Considering Running For Presidency In '08! 3 years ago

For months, the first-term senator had ruled out running for the White House, but said he has reconsidered “given the responses that I have been getting over the last several months,” he told NBC.

He added that for the time being, he is devoting his energies to campaigning for fellow opposition Democrats running for office in next month’s congressional and statewide elections against Republicans, who control both chambers of Congress.

“My focus is 2006 and making sure that we take the Congress. After November 7, I’ll sit down and consider it,” Obama said.

“And if at some point I change my mind, I will make a public announcement and everybody will be able to go at me.”

Obama, 45, is not quite two years into his first six-year Senate term, having been elected in November 2004.

The African-American lawmaker appeared on last week’s cover of Time magazine as a possible presidential prospect, and has been on tour plugging his latest book, “The Audacity of Hope,” which sets out his political views.

Asked about his relative junior status - 98 of the other 99 lawmakers in the US Senate have more seniority - Obama said Sunday he did not believe that his youth and relative inexperience to be major impediments.

“I’m not sure that anybody is ready to be president before they’re president,” he told NBC.

“Ultimately, I trust the judgment of the American people that in any election they sort it through,” he said.

“We have a long and rigorous process and, you know, should I decide to run - if I ever did decide to run - I’m confident that I would be run through the paces pretty good.”

    Will He? 3 years ago

Am starting to wonder whether Barack will come to terms with himself about running for president in ‘08. His own friend senator Durbin has been incouraging him to make himself a candidate. I sincerely with all my heart and soul support him all the way to the white house.

We need a change in this country and we need it now. Barack I feel is our way of making peace with our enemies abroad. My ears are open to hearing the domination of the ‘08 presidential candidates and am hoping his name will also be among the others.

He Got The Grammy.... 3 years ago

Obama who was nominated for a grammy actually won last night (no surprise here) am just so excited. I’m so happy for him winning that I feel as if he’s my own brother and am celebrating his achievements with him. Am so proud of Obama words can’t explain; well I guess he better start writing faster for his next book because am sure he’ll be back for another. Go Obama you rock…..

    Am Sad.......... 3 years ago

Obama, who is from Chicago’s South Side, appeared on NBC’s “Meet The Press,” and stated that he “will not” run for president in the next national election.

“I will serve out my full six-year term,” Obama said. “When you get asked enough, you get weary, and you start looking for new ways to start saying things. But my thinking has not changed.”

Yeah thats right, Obama has announce that he will not be running for the presidential office in ‘08. As disappointed as I am I can understand in a way why he choose not to but then on the other hand I really dont (unless he were to sit with me and convince me why he’s not running). Am so not in a good mood anymore. Oh Why Barry? Why? I was all excited and already started to spread the word for others to vote for him, I was also getting ready to buy my Obama for president ‘08 T-Shirt (but am still getting it, it will serve as a reminder of what could have been).

After all Obama still has time to change his mind or for me to try and change his mind and I’ll be listening for further update.

Barry Is The Best!!!! 3 years ago

This is why I can’t get enough of this man. He was so sweet and kind enough to send out happy holiday wishes to his supporters (I got one, how about you?). Now wasn’t that a nice thing to do :-).

Obama rocks the house at convention 3 years ago

LAKE BUENA VISTA – They may not be able to pronounce his name, but Florida Democrats sure love Barack Obama.

He was introduced to 2,000 party activists as a “rock star” Saturday night, and the freshman senator from Illinois lived up to the grandiose billing.

In a late-night speech bracketed by standing ovations, the keynote speaker at the Florida Democratic Party’s annual convention portrayed President Bush as a weak leader who has shaken the faith of the American people.

Speaking in a crisp, serious tone, he ticked off one unresolved crisis after another, from the war in Iraq to low-paying jobs to post-Katrina despair in New Orleans to auto industry layoffs to “scandal and corruption” in Washington.

He spoke of mothers and children “living out of cars” in Louisiana, while the federal government issues no-bid contracts for relief work. He mocked the White House for photo-ops that show buzz words in the background, “as if we’re being hypnotized.”

“In Washington right now, we don’t see the kind of leadership that would give us faith,” Obama said. “It’s the timidity, the smallness of our politics that are holding us back.”

Hours before Obama spoke, the Republican Party of Florida cited Obama’s past remarks as proof that Democrats lack a unified message on Iraq. The GOP’s pre-emptive strike recycled remarks Obama made in Orlando this summer when he said Democrats “are trying to decide what our core values are.”

Obama, 44, a Harvard-educated lawyer, burst on the national stage last year as a showcase speaker at the Democratic convention in Boston. He has been traveling the country ever since, raising money for Democratic candidates and raising the spirits of party activists.

Nowhere is Obama’s optimism more welcomed than in Florida, where Democrats have dug themselves a deeper political hole in every election cycle since 1996.

He demanded Democrats ensure Bill Nelson’s re-election to the Senate. Otherwise, he said, “I’m not coming back to Florida I’m writing y’all off.”

    Grammy Winner! 3 years ago

Oh yeah that’s right, Obama has been nominated for a grammy. I was so excited when I read it earlier tonight; I was like where do I vote? I really hope he do win, but what sucks is if he does I won’t be here to see it because am going out of the country in a few days so am gonna miss it. Lucky I have directv dvr so I can tape it and watch it when I get back :-). Then I can just skip to the best part which is of course when Obama goes up to accept his award. I would give almost anything to be there, but unfortunately I can’t (that sucks). Well I really hope he win and I can’t wait for his next book to come out. I am so bored I need a good book to read right about now (how about you?).
