Okay, here is the situation. I’ve completed a high ropes course, where at the end you have to jump off a small platform about 40 feet in the trees and you drop straight down before zipping along a slope, and then coming to an end.
I get extremely terrified of doing it every year. And every year I feel I must conquer it.
This year I’m going to make it completely terrifying. I’m going to have them hook me up from the back so I’ll be in effect diving off the platform. Just typing it right now is making my stomach flip with fear.
I am so scared. How do I get rid of the TERROR?
Will meditation help?

I’d rather face fear than defeat it.

fear puzzles me
i know it is healthy in certain situations and i think it was my most effective defense mechanism deterring me from harmful situations

I have definitely overcome many of my fears and feel that I’m in general not a fearful person anymore. Will fear ever be totally gone? No. It’s a catalyst and a self defense mechanism. It would be like losing your conscience. I don’t let it own me, but I wouldn’t bid it leave completely anymore.

Fear tends to run your life. When you stop fearing, you start living!

What I really mean by this is to conquer all the fears that I have. I am 17 and still afraid of being alone in the dark. It’s just wierd. I just want to gather up all the courage and just DO it! :)
