All in all, the weekend went superbly well. I managed to do all the things I planned, though I conveniently ignored some of the work-related items. It is a weekend right, so I should be entitled to do just that ;)
Looking forward to more brilliant weekends! And also, to lobby a 3-day weekend for oppressed workaholics everywhere! ;P

It’s already Sunday. So far, I’ve had a brilliant weekend. Managed to get myself out of the house and went to a friend’s who was going away next week. Dropped by at my sister’s place and was delighted to see my nephew already crawling and sitting on his own.
Spent Saturday night watching a marathon of Desperate Housewives (I think Eva is the most “toned” woman I’ve ever saw on TV). Checked my weekend wishlist, doing good so far. Should be able to cross a least half in no time.
Sunday was filled with shopping! I went crazy and bought a new bedsheet which actually matches my quilt cover. And matching pillow cases too boot. Am so proud of myself :) . The only drawback was I had such a good time and spoilt myself with ridiculously expensive comfort food. Oh well.. what the hell ;P
Monday is still a holiday (YAY!). So I have tonight to continue my marathon TV watching (I love pointless TV shows and I have nothing to be ashamed of it!). And my best friend gave a beautiful batik blouse for my birthday, my first ever and I love it already!

to have a super-brilliant weekend!
Normally, my weekends are quite depressing. Coz when I’m not at work I have more time to psycho-analyze my life and almost always, magnify the negative bits and have-nots. Naturally, by Sunday evening, I’d be feeling really blue. Which is not a good way to start a work week.
But somehow, I felt a buzz on Friday evening, maybe due to the beautiful weather we had and the fact that traffic was cooperating ;) . When I got home, turned out everyone bought something to munch for a late-tea snack. We ended up having a small party (more than enough fried banana to go around) and decided to skip dinner.
Anyhow, I began making a list of the stuff I’ll be doing or am planning to do over the next 3 days. Monday’s a holiday so that’s another YAY item ;)
I had 20 things on my list. But as I was writing them down, I didn’t feel the usual stress of “Man, this is not happening”. Instead I told myself that it’s an exercise to mentally offload and that I had no obligation to strike each one of them if I chose not too. In fact instead of a to-do list, it was called “Super-brilliant weekend wishlist”.
Started off by tidying up my room. Put away all those papers from last semester, threw away the old bills and turned on some music. I had “Simply Classics” on and before long, I was dancing to Ms Aretha Franklin “R.E.S.P.E.C.T”!
I then remembered that I had a few DVDs I haven’t watched. Popped in “Shall we dance?” (Yes, I was already excited after my solo cha cha”) and watched the beautiful story unfold. It was lovely and I completely lost myself in it. Hmm..maybe I should take dancing lessons ;)
And now here I am.. Maybe for a change, I should sleep early tonight. Tomorrow, I’ve got a date with the flower beds and an invite to a co-worker’s get-together.
Even if I don’t cross off half of that list, I am DETERMINED to enjoy the weekend and make it my best ever.. ;)
