just a few months ago, when i was still contemplating my “future” (because we were about to choose universities to apply to), i’d told my friend that getting paid to read books would be my perfect job. then i discovered the “publisher/editor” career, and this is exactly what i’ve been imagining! i mean, i’ve always been good in english, i’m a big bookworm, i love doing creative things, and i’ve always been one of the few people my friends always asked to edit their school papers. i REALLY REALLY want to be a book publisher! right now, i’m just about to study book/magazine publishing in university, so at least i’m on my way to reaching my goal! =) now i just need to find a job at a bookstore so i can have a “related work experience” in my resume….=P
I want to own a publishing house. I want to be an editor and the boss and have the last words in what we are going to publish. I want to be the one who decides on this, to be able to make a ahort and sweet list of choice books I want translated and published – and then do it. I don’t care about money. I want to make people read what I read :)
