There is a business plan competition at my school and the plans are due Dec 6th. Honestly I feel pretty good about my chances b/c although there are over $15,000 in cash prizes I do not feel like there will be a lot of people who will be entering. My plan is to be done with most of the b-plan by next Tuesday. This includes executive summary, business description, market analysis, marketing plan, operational plan, risks and contingencies, and financial projects.
I’ve created a tiered system where each day I work on three different parts of the plan with each part successively closer to being done the longer I have worked on it. I figure then after 3 days every day I should be finiishing at least one part of the plan and starting at least one new section. So for instance right now Ive projected my plan to be like this for the next couple of days.
Wednesday
Finish business description
Get market analysis to 80- 90%
Get marketing plan to 50-60%
Work on Survey
Risks and contingincies 50%
Thursday
Finish market analysis
Get marketing plan to 80-90%
Operation plan10-20%
People10-30%
Finish R&C
We’ll see how it works out.

I have been really bad at this lately. I haven’t even looked at the plan for 4 days or so. I’ve been busy with my three other jobs! Eep.
I am getting a lot of advice from friends, though.

I started calling banks and no one is giving money for restaurants right now. So I am starting a savings account and down the road I will pick this up again.

Well, I could refind my business plan more, but it’s good enough. I don’t need any financing, so that’s causing me to slack off a bit.

I can’t wait to finish my jewelry business plan. I’m halfway there, but I just had to stop because I felt like I was repeating myself. I’m going to begin working on it again tonight.
