I love these tiles! We found them in two different hardware stores and thought about the design for weeks. Seeing it done now, we’re stunned! It looks really great and I can’t wait to see it finished and furnished.^Well, they only have one more week to get it done… Fingers crossed ;-)

A door! We have a door!

It’s a darkblue door and I can’t wait to see it myself (my husband went to see the house on his own this time). We picked out a plain door and thought of those little windows, and the different colours ourselves. We already had an idea that it would look good, but had no idea, how it would really turn out in the end.
Well, it doesn’t look too bad. ;-)

We went there on thursday and were sooo surprised. The house is ready to be plastered from inside and the the floor will be done and in 6 weeks we will be moving in. From the outside the house is finished (except for some tiny details) and it looks stunning (even our neighbours say so).
It’s time to make moving-plans and -arrangements.

We were there yesterday to see the progress and saw the windows being inserted. It made such a difference! There was a lot more done and things for the bathrooms were prepared and electricity so that we can now really measure up walls and start decorating the place (on paper!).

Roof and staircase

We went to see the house again this weekend and were so surprised to see the builders still busy there – on saturday! Later, we talked to some neighbors and were even more surprised to hear that they started at 7.00 a.m. in the morning…
But it was great to walk through the house again. Now that the roof is closed (they covered it with some plastic) it’s getting dryer inside and is better to walk through.
We took Andrea with us so she could see her new room and could easily climb up the new stairs now. She loved it, especially when I sketched her where her furniture and toys would be standing in that room of hers. Most of the other rooms were started with as well and I did the same for her in the bathrooms and the other bedrooms. They will be bigger than what we have now and it’s still difficult to imagine it all, but it gets more real every time we’re there.
When we talked to our new neighbors, their daughter was standing with us as well. She’s only half a year older than Andrea and they will start school together next year. They smiled at each other constantly, but were too shy to shake hands – so cute to see. I hope that knowing there could be a friend living just next door will make it less difficult for her to move out here next week.
