second yawn

I got bored with it quickly. It’s mostly sex sex sex, and if you’re not into playing a virtual porn star there’s not a lot to do, although it’s fun to wander around at first, and I will say that everyone I met there was quite low-key and friendly.
I enjoyed having a small cottage and garden there for a while, but I couldn’t decorate it or put in many flowers because you can’t put much on even a small property unless you pay for a lot more land (for more prims).

I know this may sound strange, but I met my boyfriend in SecondLife, sure there’s lots of sex and gambling, but if you look past that, and actually get to know some of the people, you’ll find it much more enjoyable. I’ve met my bf now in real life, and he’s amazing, and if we hadn’t joined SecondLife, we would’ve never met. I could go on and on, but I’ll just stop here…

In the end analysis I became quite disenchanted with SecondLife.
It seemed to me that every which way I turned on SL a dildo was popping out at me.
I don’t blame Linden Labs for this – they’ve created an open VR community and as human nature would seem to suggest – people build lots of gambling and sex with it.
Enh. I’d rather play World of Warcraft :)

Just a few things off the top. In SecondLife, the virtual currency can be converted to / from real US $ any time. As a result, people are making real money off of Second Life.
Also, this system is gaining wide spread support. The BBC, Harvard Law school, and other institutions have purchased land in SL.
Neat stuff. Check out out.
