learn to play pool.

I can’t believe that I joined a league. It’s a 9 ball league. I didn’t even know how to play. Someone asked me to join and I said yes! A couple of quick lessons on the rules and how to play and I’ve already played my first match. I lost. :)

I played pool last night and beat someone that is a very skilled pool player. I want to play more.

Well, I was close to crossing this one off my list, but last week a beautiful and extraordinary young lady beat me mercilessly, over and over, at the pool table. I guess I need a little more practice.

It felt good back in the day running pool tables and hustling the older guys for their money..assuming I was a young girl who “thought” I could play pool…so therefore I still maintain I did not hustle people ever they just assumed I was bad and I made money because of their stupidity!

After a very long time, I have finally mastered the right grip to have on the pool cue. The other night I was playing and it suddenly happened, and I played much, much better. I think I can cross “learn to play pool” off my list, because I am comfortable enough to play now. I have had this goal on my list forever, and I am so happy to actually be able to say that I can play pool.

My boss is one of the best pool players in the area, and he wants to teach me to play, yet I just refuse to do it. I want to learn to play pool because I’m so damn bad at it, but I just never make the effort to call him up and see if he wants to do another lesson. I’ve had one, and it was enlightening. I think if I would stick with it I could be ok at it, but I just won’t make the effort. Stupid lack of motivation.

Pool is relaxing, kinda sexy, and it makes me feel powerful. RAWR!

It just happened that the professor finished his class session for this week early and we were all filing out of the classroom when Satish asked me to join him for a game of pool… I was surprised cos i don’t know it at all…. But I said OK. And there I was standing and watching pro’s play the game… But I learnt the stance and the rules of the game.. I can’t hit the balls too well.. But what the heck!... I’ll improve…

I finally played Pool today!

But I need to get better at it. I have my days, and then I don’t. =P It’s worth it when you win against someone that plays really well, and it just isn’t their day.

I always thought it was a cool “sport”.
There is a song, by a uruguayan musician, that sings about a woman and when it describes her it says something like “de las que ganan al pool”(“she is one of those who win at pool”) and I always thought I wanted to be like that ;)
