different moods of calvin…superb
How I did it: Think of characters you want for your comics. Then decide their nature, mood and tendencies. Start by relating all the characters of the strip as an introductory part. Then, either you can create series of story or independent clips.
Lessons & tips: Pay most attention to the face emotions of the characters.
Try making different angle faces sketch of your characters.
Beginners can start by making rough sketches by light pencil and then sketching the art from a black marker.
Also try practicing hands and feets.
Resources: I learn the most by studying Calvin and hobbes strip, awesome expressions and wonderful concepts.

my inspirations are copper (http://www.boltcity.com/copper/), xkcd.com, odd-fish, and dinosaur comics (www.qwantz.com). all of those are genious, but it was especially copper that got me into drawing again. oh yeah, and toothpaste for dinner, but until they get that rss sorted out..
