Speak @ an Industry Conference

I spoke at both OSCON and ApacheCon this year, and both were just fantastic.

Getting up in front of my peers and telling them about stuff I’m working was terrifying, but fun, and I ended up spending time with people I’d never have gotten to meet anywhere else.

Highly recommended, and I plan to do it again assuming I can come up with some more ideas and convince somebody to let me talk about them.

I work for an online, virtual company. We’ve grown 100% in the last year. As the head of marketing a lot of interesting stuff crosses my desk each day. But I am so busy that I am not looking at the “big picture.” For myself and my company I should work harder to position myself as an expert.
