Eliminate my debt and live debt(stress) free

Since I am so young, (25) I got a free consultation and the lawyer recommended bankruptcy for me. I have a lot of ccard debt from college and moving across the country. My husband was out a job for a long time and so we used credit (mine). I couldn’t afford min. payments and was hit with fee after fee. Eventually my credit cards were over the limit with fees and interest and now I owe 5,000 more than I even spent on them.

The way I look at it, It will take me over 7 years to pay off this debt unless I win the lottery or something and I don’t even play! So bankruptcy will allow me to NOT pay money back and I can work on rebuilding me credit a lot faster than it would take me to pay back my debt. 19 months ago

Ok, i still havent’ eliminated my debt nor do i think i will ever live and be debt free, however, I’m in the process of getting my finances back in order. I’ve signed up for budgeting classes and i’m working on paying some stuff off with my Tax return, and i still need to fix my past credit, plus i may soon have a job , so right now (at the moment) it’s looking hopeful, but only time (& patience) will see how it goes …. 6 years ago
