Early start
In my third year as a gardener, I’m extending the planting season. I started a couple weeks ago with a few seedlings. I’ll be building a cold frame very soon —already have the materials out in the front.
Sadly, an unfortunate thing happened today: Accidentally while taking a shirt from the dresser, A knocked down a tray of about 20 seedlings. I’m almost positive five will survive; about six or seven definitely did not withstand the fall; and about eight or so are struggling. Hopefully, my future plantings will have better luck.

My first batch of onions was ready to harvest a couple of days ago. Their crispiness and their delicate flavor was just the perfect touch for an avocado cocktail.

Giving a little break to the basil plants, I plucked a bit of oregano to experiment with the Caprese Salad. This herb gives a more subtle flavor than basil, but it’s delicious as well.

Freshly cut oregano added a twist of flavor to a delicious pasta with tomato sauce. I am so much enjoying having my own garden :)

Some of my herbs needed a little pruning during their transplant to the garden.
A bunch of basil leaves turned into spaghetti in pesto & tomato sauce:

The next day, a few cilantro leaves adorned my delicious enfrijoladas:

The arugula was the first vegetable to be ready for consumption, so I decided to have a sandwich with my very first home-grown vegetable!! Only the arugula, everything else is from the grocery store :P But it was delicious nonetheless.

I can’t even start to describe the feeling it gives, but it simply catapults the pleasure of eating…
