find my spirituality

I have read Spirituality for Dummies and Eat Pray Love to aid in my quest to find my spirit. As well, have done much contemplation to determine what spirituality means to me. I feel that I have finally come to the point where I can say that I have found a road to continue in my spiritual journey. This road will include prayer, meditation, and contemplative writing in my everyday life. Furthermore, I will attempt to embrace nature and include services of dedication in my life as frequently as possible.

To provide some support to the rest of you, I have been selecting quotes from both of the previously mentioned books to help me remember the important ideas that were presented by the authors. I believe in God and that he exists in the realm of the after life.

Now I have been shearching the web on ways to find spiritual enlightenment but all I have found Is meditaition and other useless stuff that do not match what I have time for. I guess that I can do meditation but what else can I do too feel closer too my religion. I don’t have time for church In the morning so what can I do I mean my father has talked about our religion but I want to be like a super powered god follower If you know what I mean. What can I do I feel useless. I want to be really In touch with my spiritual side.

I am starting this goal through reading. I have already read the book Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert and I found it quite enlightening in the scope of spirituality. The next book on my reading list is Spirituality for Dummies by Sharon Janis. I am hoping that it will further inspire my spiritual discovery.

This is the path I’m trying.

So far, it is very effective. I go every Thursday night to a group who are fantastic, it’s making me consider converting to Buddhism as it seems to give me a lot of peace, and makes me a more calm, centred person.

Finding spirituality. It is not like joining a club or simply deciding something. I want to know where this part of me is.

It’s been a goal of mine for sometime now, to find my spirituality- well at least that’s what it would seem like to the readers. This post is to inform you all that my search has been halted, finally. No more looking for God for me…although, sometimes I wish someone who was well versed in Theological study, could explain to me the role I’ve taken in a religious standpoint. For example, I’ve denied God, so that I can focus more on self-realization. Such pride is a sin, according to the bible. However, such feeble-mindedness should not be condoned in the eyes of the Lord. How could it be?

Many people are beginning to aspire for something they previously did not aspire for. They understand that a spiritual component is necessary in our world and that life does not have any meaning without it. Of course, people have to earn money, live and somehow exist normally in this world, but generally something is still missing in the world. And these people are beginning to feel this.

Moreover, I am referring to people who are and always were very far away from the spiritual, such as bankers, businessmen and politicians. These people are very tough, very sober-minded and they think very sensibly. But they are suddenly seeing that the most important thing is somehow passing them by. It is not that they plan to leave their business, but they are simply beginning to feel this. They do not understand this yet, but in principle they are beginning to feel that what happens in this world has to somehow merge, coincide and connect with something slightly higher, some kind of spirit that’s above this world.

Man is born to our world with very small desires that gradually grow: soon there is a desire for a family, power, respect, and knowledge. Yet, these are only experiences of this world. The desires demand of the brain their necessary amount of development. In other words, the mind evolves to the degree that is necessary to satisfy one’s desires.
But if we should desire spirituality, if we suddenly feel that we want something not available in this world, then we begin to search for it.

Finally, our every desire begins to grow within us. We become more egoistic, and therefore smarter. Greater worldly desires are born, especially sexual ones.

In fact, the higher we rise toward the Creator, the greater our desires and pleasures become.

Right now we are in an illusion of our own existence, both of our body and of our world. But once we pass into the other region of sensation, this present sensation will disappear from our sensory field. Currently, we sense our body as existing or no; we sense life or death. But by completely transferring ourselves into a life within the common soul, we lose this body and it stops existing for us too.

We perceive everything (ourselves, our friends, relatives, and all of mankind) as existing on a spiritual level. Our world, i.e. this concealment, this shroud that we imagine, gradually, together with the other worlds, rises and engages in the spiritual sensation. We feel only the one, unified, complete and eternal state. And all of this happens only by fulfilling a mutual guarantee of the state of love for one’s neighbor.
