my husband and i took a cruise that stoped in cozumel. instead of doing the touristy stuff, we decided to rent a scooter and venture out of the tourist zone. we found this little local market that sold produce and meat, and in a lil corner we found a sketchy lil vendor. it was the best mexican food ever. we popped lotsa pepto, just in case. didn’t get sick, and the food was totally worth it! 4 years ago

The key to choosing a good restaurant is to ask a local where they enjoy eating. The fewer tourists that are in the place the better!
Keep in mind…you can’t eat real Mexican food at Senor Frogs. Senor Frogs is for lushes and gringo tourists.
In general, if you don’t like the food in Mexico, you don’t like Mexican food. Please don’t try to tell me that the Mexican food in Philadelphia is better than it is in Mexico. No, it isn’t! That’s like saying the gumbo in Seattle is better than the gumbo in New Orleans. 6 years ago

The nicest Mexican food I ever had was in Lafayette, Indiana, USA. Much nicer than anything I had in Mexico, or El Paso. 6 years ago
