write, get financing, and produce a short film to put in Film Festivals

I have my script ready…my fiance is an actress and will play the lead- all in the family! however the rest of the cast and crew although could be friends i intend to handle it professionally so that i can atleast pay them their expenses o travel and food! But what are the returns on a short film that i can convince some people to put money on me?!

I bought biz cards, set up an email acct for this biz. I am going to pass out my cards now as Indie Film maker and I’m working on the screenplay to be produced. I have a location to shoot the film. I am going to write within my budget and go over to SAG and find out about SAG INDIE Contracts maybe take some of their classes they offer. I am getting the company set up. I will find out what other information I need to get cracking on this idea. I want to make it happen. I am a new Indie FIlm Maker Producer, director, writer, editor.

I will need camera equiptment, actors, people to help me but i have to stay within my small next to nothing budget.

I decided to research how to even create my own film company. Within the film company I will write, produce, and direct my own films. I have dreamed of making movies since I was a kid. I came to hollywood to be an actor, write, direct, and produce films.

I like being the one in control. I will order business cards and go find out what other necessary licenses that I need to create this business and get started with my project.

well i like this website because when I typed in what I wanted to do there was a bunch of cool links over to the right. One great thing that I found and I already printed it is from Robert Rodriguez who wrote The Mariachi which 10 minute film school. Wow that really motivated me. I must have read it over and over and it inspired me so much I listened to somd disco music and i came up with what I am going to write about, plus the title. The hard thing is comig up with the storyline. but it seemed like I just got inspired by what I read and I picked some scenes from my own life and I’m going to begin the stories tonight. I really want to do this and this website www.43things.com is very inspirational. I see other people want to do things and make some things happen in their lives too.
the one great thing that I learned from this site tonight is that we all dream and sometimes the hard part is GETTING started and I think that my mind has been holding me back. BUT reading that passage omg its like my bible now. I printed it. I am going to read it all the time. Wow.

also I took off the acrylic on my nails. this year I’m going to let me natural nails grow without spending over $1500 a year on nails. But I did spend like $50 today to get them back in shape. The funny thing is I need them to be short for now opposed to my normal long, long sexy nails. I need to type faster and get my stories done.
