do volunteer work

I’ve done some volunteer work in high school and it was great. Definitely want to include more volunteer work in my life.

The apt. building that I live in has a monthly birthday party. I attended the other day and served all the old dears their tea and cake.

There’s two organizations I’m looking at right now:

1. One.org – a group that helps fight poverty and AIDS. I’m already in their email group and we’re already planning to meet soon.

2. St. Mary’s Food Bank – They focus on giving boxes of food products to those who need them.

I have not been to any volunteer work yet. I’ve tried to sign up for the monthly food drive, but they never reply to my emails!! I’m so thrown off by this.

I didn’t really feel that great about picking up a park but it was good to get outside

Earlier this year my 6 year old cat died from cancer. It was devastating but damn that cat had been an awesome and given us so much. We have space for 3 cats, and I knew eventually we would get another cat partially as a way to honor the cat we lost. We adopted a cat from a rescue group who had been pulled from a shelter close to his euthanasia date.

This got me thinking alot about how much happiness I’ve gotten from my cats and how I’d really like to give back to more than just the 3 I can adopt myself.

I’ve been volunteering at Oakland Animal Services for the past few months and really wish I had done this sooner. It’s been a really fulfilling experience. I’ve always been a bit on the shy side but have found that talking to people who are looking to adopt a cat is the best part of the job – actually helping match up people with cats that will enhance their lives

I look forward to the few hours a week I spend there.

I’ll go to the Food Distribution on the 28th, but feel I should be doing more. I’ll take a look to see if there are more things I want to sign up for.

I love to hike out here in Colorado and I know that I take for granted all the work that goes into trail maintenance, which allows hiking on the trails to even happen!

So, I want and plan to join a trail maintenance group out here in the Denver/Boulder area.

If anyone knows of any such groups, I’d love to hear it.

ive been wanting to do this for a long time, but due to work, poor hours, motorcycle accidents and losing my home i was unable to find the time to do so, but lately ive been down in the slumps and figured it was because things were going so rotten, i believe ive ran out of karma points so maybe if i started to do good things again maybe good things will start happening to me again… lets see..

I have joined my local Amnesty group, and also I’ve signed up with a local conservation group.

It is really worthwhile. If your faith in humanity had gone or you want to meet loving and thoughtful people, then do volunteer work.
