Once upon a time, there was a video game I played, in which a man had to battle werewolves in Germany, and it was implied in the game that King Ludwig II of Bavaria was a werewolf and still haunted those parts. They had scenes from his castles in the game, and so my interest was peaked. I read about Ludwig and watched a very long movie. I looked at pictures of his castles and decided that I absolutely must visit all of them one day. The guy basically thought he was a fairytale prince. He lived in the 19th century but liked dressing up like a courtly young man from the Rennaissance. He spent tons and tons of his money on building castles with golden rooms and boats shaped like swans and secret chambers. He also financially supported Wagner. He died while locked away in a mental asylum – he drowned in a lake.
In short, I want to see the pretty castles.
