How I did it: I went with with my family when I was nine. We are memberes of the Pope John Paul II Foundation, and through the organization we were scheduled to attend a private audience with the Pope! I was dressed in the Polish traditional Krakusy costume, and when he saw me and my sister his eyes lit up, and gestured for us!
A memorable moment of sanctification!
Lessons & tips: smile, have connections when you go.

i met the pope when i was in yonkers,ny! what an experience!!
it would be cool to sit down and have a normal dinner with some interesting people at the table. The Pope would be one of them.. just to sit and eat and have a normal chat and see what he is like. No pomp or ceremony.. that would be unique..
Einstein and Mozart would be the other two characters LOL
I met him in Saint Louis, MO in ‘99. I sang in the Papal Choir at the Mass and was then taken to the base where his plane was leaving from. My stepmom was a regional director for Secret Service at the time, so I was taken from the crowd inside out to the tarmac, given credentials and met Pope John Paul and Archbishop Justin Regali as His Holiness went to the plane.
It was pretty surreal.
I sang in St. Peter’s once….it was like going to a party and not getting to meet the host.
