It is hard to learn French without classes…
The thing one can do by oneself may be trying to read a book with the help of grammer books and dictionaries. One recomended me the L’etranger – Albert Camus for start..
I want to read one page every week. But I am not that much autodisiplined…
Another thing is to find e-mail friends, instant messaging friends who can help you improve your French.. Actually IM is harder, mailing is more relaxed since you have plenty of time to answer.. :)
But the pronounciation is a problem, songs and films may work if you have no opportuity to go a French speaking country..
Still I try to learn French more than one year and progress is very very very slow…
I hope I wont quit..

Kaz asks,
“Does anyone know any good multi-media programs for learning French that I would purchase in Australia (probably something like a textbook accompanied with CD-Rom)?”
