I have sewn small pillowcases and simple bags for me and my kids, so I hope I could find a way to make a dress for myself :) and that it would fit well and last for a good couple of years hehehe

I want to make my own dress and I’ve all ready found the tutorial! :) I will try to make it after I finish my project at school :)
I made my own dress as an assignment in High school (back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth).
The class also taught us hygiene (bathe regularly), dating protocol (always keep a copy of the Bible open between you during a date), and cooking (amazingly I didn’t set anything on fire during class!).
The sewing portion was on par with the rest… I bought some bright orange cotton material with little green flowers and a pattern for a floor length dress with no collar or sleeves. I thought, and rightly so, that this would be the easiest pattern to make. We did it all by hand, no sewing machine! The dress was wearable, but the first time it was washed it might as well have been made of paper. The color ran and there was no ironing the wrinkles out!
But it was an experience, and sewing in a button or fixing a hem was nothing after that.

I can sew-and this sounded like a good idea, but it took forever and I ended up giving up!!
