create beauty

I’m glad I put this down as a goal, it did prod me to remember this part of myself. Over the past few months this has re-awakened in myself and creating beauty in the world is once again second nature. Marking this done but it is an ongoing part of my life.

Last night I had a very interesting dream. I was visiting a friend of mine, an artist, and he had created beautiful sculptures that were also perpetual motion machines. The thought came to my mind that he had discovered an important technology that could be very lucrative. He laughed, and I realized that the important part of his machines was that they were beautiful and had so many symbolic meanings.

So, a question…must everything that is created be exploited for its commercial value? Is there still room in this mad world for Beauty to live unshackled to the gears of production? I certainly hope so.

I am inspired to create safe havens for Beauty, for Truth with a capital T, for Art, for Life without a price tag. They are in many regards endangered species. Maybe you have a small parcel of space in your life which you could dedicate as a Beauty and Truth conservation area?
