It varies. I’m eating 4-6 a day. Started with smoothies in the morning. Have started with 220ml smoothie each morning (= 2 portions) Previously had 1 juice per morning(1 portion). Also if I’m meeting friends in the pub have at least 1 juice this increases portions and helps with other goal/thing “drink less alcohol”.
How to eat 5 fruits and vegetables a day
How I did it: A 250ml smoothie for breakfast everymorning = 2.
A piece of fruit everyday = 1.
Lunch = 2.
Dinner = 2.
Thats about 7 a day so if I miss out a portion or 2 anywhere I'm still doing 5-a-day as a minimum.
Lessons & tips: Stockpile smoothies/juices. Keep a full fruitbowl on the table. I am going to start bringing bags of fruit to work.
Full salads are several portions at once. Side salads = at least 2 portions. Make your own soups. They use loads of veg and will be excellent when the cold weather arrives.

I did it! I ate my full 5 today. I am proud.
I chopped heads of romaine and iceberg lettuce together, and thinly sliced five carrots, to make a big bag of salad. My daughter and I scarfed two plates full each, because it was so good. (And probably because our nutrient-starved bodies were craving something fresh!)
I also put a lot of spinach into my morning omelette, and also ate half an orange at breakfast.

The best I can say for myself is that I did eat a carrot today.
I need to buy more grapefruit, and also get myself organized to cook veggies more often. I have cauliflower and brussels sprouts in the fridge, but I’m just too lazy to cook them.
Tomorrow I will. And eat them with cheesesauce! :)

I made a meatloaf last night. In it I put grated carrots, chopped celery, tomato sauce, onions and a bed of cabbage. I’m getting my 5 veggies with each serving!
Okay, probably not really in the amounts that count as a serving each. But it’s pretty good diversity anyway. :)
My friend upstairs who’s just had her tonsils and adenoids out was in raptures over my meatloaf. It’s the first solid food she could eat. She never knew you could put veggies in meatloaf before! I feel so proud.

Hannah looking forward to the weekend.....
I’m trying harder at lunch at work, fruit juices count so I’ve been taking 2 different ones a day and adding salad to each lunch too – also been putting veggies in my pasta bakes – mushrooms and sweetcorn are good! Some days I seem to ahve about 8 and others are awful! Tend to just ignore the weekends, lol!
Well, I got three in today—chili for dinner, an amazing nectarine for a snack, and some raspberries before bed. (These are the eating highlights of my day—I don’t know why it’s so hard not to do it more!)
