promote socialism

I agree with the guy beneath me.

I personaly think that people should only use revolution and violence to attain their means when all peaceful attempts have failed. What do you guys think

I plan to become involved with the movement again. I left in large part because the constant factional bickering over fine points of doctrine that seemed so petty when the real enemy lumbers on unabated. I’m not saying that I don’t think those debates aren’t important but I feel that it makes us look stupid and fanatical to the people we’re trying to recruit.

Something which was like 100 reasons why it wsa great to be a man, so I was actually thinking of doing something similiar about being a socialist.

I’ve got to think of the 100 first, I want it to be humourous and witty too, maybe ironic in parts, I think there’s too much bitterness on either side of the capitalist/socialist political divide sometimes.

I think part of promoting socialism is understanding and defining what it is and what is isnt.

I dont believe that any of the big government measures that are criticised the most by conservatives and capitalists are socialist, they could be considered humane or functional but that doesnt necessarily make them socialist.

About promoting socialism through calender days and celebrations, building a counter-culture and having fun, it was a really creative suggestion. So I’m going to try and link it.

Its a nice idea to remember great events from history and stop them disappearing down some sort of Orwellian memory hole.

Keep doing this too, though I need the space on my active list so I’ll list this as done. Its really a work in progress I think.

I’ve promoted socialism or the elements of socialism that make sense to me.

The economy is riddled with contradictions and pro-social behaviour is in decline, more of the same please just doesnt strike me as convincing or persuasive.

‘Sides, my wife might divorce me! and what will the children grow up remembering? “Failed writer and unknown socialist?”
